Safety Patrol
Currently, Sunrise has 24 safety patrols who work diligently at their posts everyday. The Sunrise Elementary Safety Patrols serve many functions, both inside and outside the school. They serve as mentors to younger students, provide assistance to on-duty teachers and staff during arrival and dismissal, make sure that our students are being safe and guide and encourage each other. All the safety patrols abide by the Patrol Pledge which states:
- I promise to do my best to....
- Report for duty on time;
- Strive to prevent accidents, always setting a good example myself;
- Obey my teachers and officers of the patrol;
- Report dangerous student practices;
- Strive to earn the respect of my fellow students.
Morning News Crew
The Sunrise News Show is aired each morning to all of our classrooms. The crew is made up of seven fifth graders who have applied and auditioned to take part in producing the daily news. The students rotate weekly between the positions of anchor, flag, switcher, video, sound, camera 1, camera 2, and substitute. Reach out to Mrs. Dolce if you are interested or have questions.

Sports Club
Opportunity. That is the foundation of the Intramural Sports Program at Sunrise Elementary school. We want to provide the students the opportunity to play sports for a variety of reasons: 1) a place for the students tp play a sport that they may not be able to play due to financial reasons. 2) a place for the students to try playing a new sports that they may be hesitant to try in a recreational or competitive league. 3) to show the students an avenue that they can use to be successful in life. This third reason is what drives the program. The students must maintain good grades, attendance, and citizenship to stay eligible to play.
The sports offered this school year are flag football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, and kickball. Each season is 5 sessions (1 hour a week). The focus is on learning how to play the game and to compete with integrity and class. Our goal is to continue to develop the program to include more sports and participants.
Please reach out to Coach Nycz if you are interested in trying a sport or would like more information.
